Using conf.d in Apache VirtualHosts

The conf.d directory is very useful in configuring the Apache server. If you place configuration files (.conf files) here, Apache will automatically read them and operate according to that configuration.

This is especially important for VirtualHost configurations. For example, if multiple websites are hosted on the same Apache server, a separate .conf file can be created for each site and each placed in its own conf.d directory. This allows you to manage the settings for each website independently.
